The Road to Tuvalu: building a Fossil Free Future

The Road to Tuvalu: building a Fossil Free Future

Date: Tuesday, 22nd September
Time: 10-11.30, with networking from 9.30am
Format: Senior executive roundtable, Chatham House Rules
The session will combine short framing inputs with structured roundtable discussion among participating companies. The emphasis is on peer exchange and synthesis, with the aim of identifying shared insights and areas of alignment relevant to the Tuvalu process.

A closed-door Senior Business Roundtable hosted by Exponential Roadmap Initiative and the Fossil Fuel Treaty Initiative

The roundtable builds on the momentum from the First Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels in Santa Marta and a private sector gathering held during London Climate Action Week, and is intended to serve as a further step toward the upcoming Second Conference in Tuvalu in early 2027. Our aim is to continue building a coherent, coordinated business voice in this process - clarifying constraints, identifying enabling conditions, and jointly exploring how companies can help shape practical, competitive, and investable pathways for the transition away from fossil fuels.

The discussion will focus on the role of the private sector in accelerating the scale-up of climate solutions, identifying the policy and market conditions needed to unlock investment, and addressing the barriers - including structural market distortions such as fossil fuel subsidies and legacy pricing systems - that currently limit the pace and scale of the transition.

The roundtable runs 10:00–11:30, with breakfast and networking from 09:30.
