UNSG SOLUTIONS DIALogue on climate finance
Not Open to the Public
The United Nations Secretary-General will convene a High-Level Meeting on Climate Action and the Just Transition during the High-Level Week of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. The Meeting will focus on the leadership, implementation, and international cooperation needed to accelerate delivery across the three pillars of the Paris Agreement. It will include a series of multi-stakeholder ‘Solutions Dialogues’, bringing together governments, international organizations and financial institutions, business, investors, subnational actors, civil society, and the UN System to identify practical partnerships and solutions to help accelerate implementation across critical sectors and priorities.
The Dialogue will bring together governments, multilateral development banks and their shareholders, multilateral climate funds, development finance institutions, regional economic organizations, risk pool, innovative sources, credit rating agencies, philanthropy, and private finance —the actors who can, together, ensure delivery and scale of finance for climate action.
The Dialogue will demonstrate the shared determination of the development and climate finance ecosystem to improve coherence, increase scale and accelerate delivery for implementation of NDCs and NAPs and for addressing adaptation, resilience and loss and damage. It will underscore the importance of predictable and adequate concessional finance, including through ambitious replenishments of multilateral climate funds, alongside reforms and innovations that can mobilize additional public and private capital.
